Is school closed until the end of the year?

Yes, Governor Ducey and Superintendent Hoffman have announced an extension of school closures through the end of the 2019-2020 School Year.  As a result, our schools, school offices, district office, grounds and fields are closed to the public until further notice (except food service and certain curriculum pickup).

If school is closed, does that mean we have no schoolwork or are not required to take any classes?

No, the Arizona Department of Education is encouraging schools to continue to provide educational opportunities to students to the best of their ability.  Fortunately, Skyline Education, Inc. and its family of schools is prepared to help you, or your student continue to receive a quality education remotely.  If you have any further questions, please contact your Principal.

What type of online education is Skyline Education and its schools providing during the Pandemic?

During this pandemic emergency we are continuing to provide educational programs to our students. Please contact your homeroom or course specific (High School) teachers for assistance in accessing your grade level content.  Teachers are working remotely and should be available.  If you are having trouble reaching your teacher, please contact the Vice Principal or Principal on your campus.

We offer a robust curriculum that will allow your child to continue education online.  Please go to https://www.skylineschools.com/digital-learning/ to access curriculum.

Odysseyware is our core curriculum for Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

Pathblazer Intervention is our K-6 curriculum that supplements core curriculum and allows student to go above or below grade level to improve their understanding of core content.

Edgenuity is our core course level curriculum for grades 6-12.  You will also find intervention courses within Edgenuity that allow students to go above or below grade level to improve their understanding of core content.

Will my teacher be contacting me or an I just supposed to work with no teacher contact?

Your teacher should absolutely be reaching out to provide support to you.  Your teachers should be using two-way communication via your online system, Google classroom, emails, videoconferencing, or online chats and discussion boards, etc.

Do I have a school email?

Yes, your teacher will be able to assist you in locating your school email and password.  It will read yourname@myskylinemail.com.  Our email system is managed by google.

Can I access my online work from any device?

Most devices with browsers work to access curriculum including Chromebooks, Laptops, Desktops, iPads, iPhones, Gaming Consoles (X-Box One, PlayStation 3 & 4).

What if I do not have a device?

Please contact your Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal to help you obtain a loaner Chromebook.  We are asking families who have devices to allow their students to use devices at home, so we may help those in need.

What if I don’t have internet?

You may use a cell phone as a hot spot, purchase hot spots from carriers, get a low-cost option from Cox or Century Link.  Skyline is also providing “at-home instructional packets” for those students who do not have internet accessibility.

What is the plan for graduation and promotion?

We encourage students to focus on completing courses to allow them to graduate.  Please contact your Academic Dean to support you through the process.  Our schools are planning to host a graduation ceremony but unsure regarding a realistic date. Please ensure you order your regalia for graduation. We will continue to communicate with families as we receive more guidance from the Governor.
