Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services: Honorary Diploma

Spread the love

We support military veterans in our community by issuing Honorary High School Diplomas. The Honorary High School Diploma recognizes the life experiences and contributions of honorably discharged veterans who were unable to complete their high school education because of service in the armed forces during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, pursuant to A.R.S. 15-203(A)(28).

We are required to issue an honorary high school diploma to a veteran who meets the following criteria:

  • Currently reside in the state
  • Provide documented evidence from ADVS that the person enlisted in the armed forces of the United States and served in World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War
  • At least 65 years of age
  • Honorably discharged

Additionally, guidelines allow for a surviving spouse or other immediate family member of a deceased veteran to request the diploma.
If your school receives a request for an honorary high school diploma, please use the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Honorary Diploma application (below) and return the completed from either by mail or email to:

  • Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services 3839 N. 3rd Street, Suite 209 Phoenix, AZ 85012-1570
