Dear Skyline West Prep Parents & Guardians,
On behalf of our staff, this statement is written to communicate modifications to our attendance and Friday School procedures. We strongly believe for students to learn they must be in school and on time to maximize their learning opportunities. By supporting one another, we can partner together to provide a positive and successful learning environment for all students.
TARDY PROCEDURE
Students who are tardy up to 30 minutes will serve a same day lunch detention for 30 minutes. Students who are tardy past 30 minutes will not attend their 1st period class and will be supervised by a staff member in a classroom until 2nd period. Students will be required to make up their 90 minutes on Friday from 8:00-9:30 a.m.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE
Students who are absent for any reason, will be required to make up the equivalent of their absence minutes on Friday. Making up minutes is in compliance with a requirement of the Arizona State Board of Education.
FRIDAY SCHOOL
Friday School is scheduled from 8:00-3:00 p.m., and lunch will be available for purchase. In addition to the above mentioned tardy and attendance procedures, Friday School can also be used for credit recovery, and/or tutoring, and also consequences for discipline issues. A courtesy communication will be offered to you on any Friday School assignment for your son or daughter.
